This carpet is one of a pair that has traveled a great deal of the world before it met you. It started life at the world reknowned looms in Kashmir, India in Srinigar. The rug was purchased there on a junket by some friends who acquired it directly from the weavers in Kashmir. The rug subsequently went to Zimbabwe where it resided until finally returning to the American Southwest in recent years.
This is a Kashmir Kashans Garden Style design carpet. Colors are outstanding and pile is in excellent condition. Overall condition is superb. This carpet has a fine silken texture and is densely woven. Shown side by side with a standard cotton cloth to give you an idea of the knots per inch. Tassles, color, everything is magnificent. You would be very hard pressed to find a rug of this caliber from an American dealer at this price.
Dimensions: About 50" x 70" (4'x6')
